HOUSTON, US: KBR Inc (KBR) said that it has completed substantial work on the Marshalltown generating station in Marshalltown, Iowa (US). Following successful performance testing, KBR completed the project on schedule and has officially handed it over to Interstate Power and Light Company, a subsidiary of Alliant Energy.
KBR provided engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services on the 650-megawatt, combined-cycle, natural-gas-fueled generating station. Upon completion of this last domestic EPC power project, as previously announced, KBR will exit the fixed price EPC power business, a non-strategic business for KBR.
"We are pleased to have safely and successfully delivered this project on schedule, demonstrating our expertise in executing large-scale, complex projects. The completion of this final domestic EPC power project achieves another milestone in KBR's successful implementation of our corporate strategy," said Farhan Mujib, KBR President of engineering and construction (E&C) Americas.
