ChemChina, Syngenta’s $43 billion deal gets EU clearance

BEIJING, CHINA/ BASEL, SWITZERLAND: China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina) said that it has received approval/ clearance from the European Commission for its planned acquisition of $43 billion takeover of Swiss pesticides and seeds group Syngenta AG.
This represents a major step towards the closing of the transaction, which is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2017.
The ChemChina-Syngenta transaction will ensure continued choice and ongoing innovation for growers in Europe and around the world.
