Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CBI) has been awarded contracts by four PetroChina refineries for the license, engineering design and proprietary equipment supply for an alkylation unit at each site.
The refineries are located in Dalian, Jilin City, Jinzhou, and Urumqi region. The alkylation units will all use CB&I's CDAlky advanced sulfuric acid alkylation technology.
"CB&I's CDAlky technology is the premium solution for the production of high-octane alkylate with less environmental impact. As global gasoline specifications tighten, such as the China VI regulation, our CDAlky technology is helping customers like PetroChina meet stringent requirements for new and existing units in refineries around the world," said Daniel McCarthy, CB&I's executive vice president of technology.
