Quality Takeaways.
Our effort at CII has been to bring all the stakeholders, industry and the government on the same platform and chalk out the course for the national quality movement. The National Quality Summit has emerged as a platform to exchange views between large medium and small-scale industries.
The theme - Journey through innovation, is quite apt. The summit will explore the potential for changes through technology and how organizations can transform themselves and be world class in their quality. In JRD Tata’s words - “One must forever strive for perfection to achieve excellence.” There is no level of quality. There is no limit to quality. But perfection is a limitless goal that we should strive for. We have to create a national leadership in this whole area of setting standards, setting excellence and setting perfection.
Evolution of Quality.
Today we are sitting at the cusp of something very unique. Technology is no longer a supplement. It is at the heart of doing business which is why we are deliberating about industry 4.0. India has always been quality conscious. Between 1982-1988, the quality movement was initiated with this country. From 1989 to 1998, we saw the spread of quality and between 1999 and 2008 we saw the implementation of many success stories on quality in India. And from 2007 onwards we have seen the whole concept of quality enter into the field of management and an acceptance of quality at various levels in an organization.
