A big problem with refineries is the issue of unplanned downtime. Almost all refineries face the issue of unplanned downtime. This unplanned downtime might be due to an equipment failure. There is a piece of equipment that shuts down for some reason. The refiner might have to shut the unit down to resolve the equipment issue and then restart operations. This leads to waste of time and could affect production in the long run. It could be operator error or human error. There are many times an operator might unknowingly take a step that could lead to, in-turn some other issue. These are the two major issues that refiners can help solve using the automation solutions.
