IRVING, US: ExxonMobil Corporation (XOM) has elected Steven Kandarian to its board of directors, effective 1 February 2018. Kandarian is the chairman, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of MetLife Inc.
With the election of Kandarian, the ExxonMobil board stands at 11 directors, 10 of whom are non-employee directors.
Kandarian’s experience leading a large international insurer, along with risk management and financial expertise, will bring valuable skills to the board. MetLife is a leading provider of insurance, annuities, employee benefits and asset management to individual and institutional customers in more than 40 countries.
Kandarian became president and CEO of MetLife in May 2011. He was elected chairman of the board in January 2012. Prior to assuming his current role, Kandarian was MetLife's chief investment officer.
