Automation trends in India’s chemical industry
In today’s global economy and fierce competition, automation technologies are doing wonders in chemical production. They serve as catalysts for companies to not only cut operational costs, but also enhance product quality and safety.
The boost in the industry’s demand- supply scenario and the Indian government’s initiatives such as ‘Make In India’ are expected to foster growth in the country’s chemical industry. Following, are some major trends that call for the adoption of automation in the industry:
Increased Globalisation:
The Indian chemical industry is expected to hit the $226 Billion mark by the year 2020, as stated by Hon’ble Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, at the CHEMEXCIL Export Awards 2017. Thanks to the improvements in corporate tax policies and Trade Infrastructure Export Schemes, the country is becoming a global competitor in industrial exports. The adoption of automation can expedite the Indian chemical industry’s operations, to serve the increasing global demands.
Improved emission and waste management:
While India’s global rank steadily rises in the Climate Change Performance Index, reducing greenhouse gas emissions continues to be an important issue. With the industry’s growing demands, raw materials are getting scarce. Disruptive technologies can better manage the increasing environmental impact of emissions and waste.
