The paints & coatings industry is expected to enjoy a sustained period of growth over the course of the coming five years with the Asia- Pacific region spearheading this growth. In India, the government has focused attention, efforts and funding on the affordable housing sector and on smart cities, both of which are driving growth in an inherently buoyant realty sector. Automotive OEM coatings are also expected to drive significant volumes in the coming days. We will witness an accelerated development of innovative coatings addressing various customer needs. This will include low-VOC, water-based green coatings, paints that enjoy heightened ease of application, energy efficient coatings and intumescent coating among others.
