BASF to increase prices for butanediol in Europe

LUDWIGSHAFEN, GERMANY: BASF SE said that it will increase its European selling prices for the following products, with immediate effect:

• 1,4-Butanediol (BDO), + 200€ per metric tonne
• Tetrahydrofuran (THF), + 150 €/mt
• Polytetramethylene ether glycol (PolyTHF), + 300 €/mt
• N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP), + 150 €/mt
• Gamma Butyrolactone (GBL), + 150 €/mt

BDO and its derivatives are used for producing engineering plastics, polyurethanes, solvents and elastic spandex fibres.
