Omnova appoints former Chemtura’s VP as its new CEO

BEACHWOOD, US: Omnova Solutions Inc (OMN) has appointed the current president of its performance chemicals business Anne Noonan (53) as the company’s new president and chief executive officer (CEO), effective 1 December.
Noonan brings nearly 30 years of experience in the chemicals industry. Prior to joining Omnova in 2014, she served as senior VP and president of Chemtura Corporation's industrial engineered products business. During her 27 years with Chemtura and its predecessor, she held numerous roles within the company.
She will succeed Kevin McMullen, who is stepping down as chairman, CEO and president, and as a member of the board of directors, effective 1 December to pursue other interests. Leading the company for over 61 years, he succeeded in repositioning Omnova as a leader in speciality chemicals and engineered surfaces including aggressive portfolio.
Noonan is also appointed to the company's board of directors. In connection with this leadership change, the board has determined to separate the chairman and CEO roles, electing William Seelbach as the company's independent, non-executive chairman, also effective 1 December.
McMullen (56) joined the company in 1996 as president of its decorative and building products unit. He took over as CEO of the company in 2000 and became chairman of the board in 2001. Prior to Omnova, McMullen worked for GE and McKinsey & Co.
