Praxair starts up fourth air separation plant at Samsung’s Hwasung site

DANBURY, US: Praxair Inc declared the start-up of its fourth air separation plant (a 1,400 tonne per day unit) and upgrade of the pipeline system serving the Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (Samsung) Hwasung site in South Korea.
The new plant will supply nitrogen to Samsung, one of the largest electronics companies globally. Praxair also supplies Samsung with nitrogen, oxygen, argon, helium and other gases, from an expanded complex outside of Seoul. Additionally, Praxair supplies liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon to a variety of local customers in such industries as non-ferrous metal, wastewater treatment and shipbuilding.
“Praxair has worked successfully with Samsung for more than 25 years, steadily increasing the supply of gases to the company’s main manufacturing complexes in Korea. This is just one example of the long-standing relationships that we build with our customers as we help them drive growth in their businesses,” said B S Sung, president of Praxair Korea.
