Bayer AG has appointed Heiko Schipper (48), deputy executive vice president of Nestle SA, to its board of management, effective 1 March 2018.
He will succeed Erica Mann as the head of the consumer health division, which is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland.
Mann has announced that she does not intend to extend her contract, which was scheduled to run until 31 December 2018. As it has been possible to find a successor at an earlier date, Mann has asked the supervisory board to be able to hand over leadership of the consumer health business and leave the company effective 31 March 2018.
Schipper is also a member of Nestle’s executive board based in Vevey, Switzerland. He is head of Nestle Nutrition, the global leader in the infant nutrition category. He started his career as an international marketing trainee at Nestle 21 years ago and held key management positions in Southeast Asia, Switzerland and China. He has held global responsibility for Nestle’s infant nutrition division since 2013.
