BASF expands its Ultradur portfolio with new robust connectors

LUDWIGSHAFEN, GERMANY: BASF SE increases it Ultradur polybutylene terephthalate line with the launch of new Ultradur grade B4340ZG2 High Speed (HSP) connectors for automotive engineering sector. Ultradur B4340ZG2 HSP is more robust (strong) against damages caused in electronic components in cars.
This has an excellent mechanical and electronic properties.
In applications, such as wire binds, strong and unbreakable plug-in connectors are required for substituting broken, individual end sections this includes a great deal of work and expenditure. Designed specifically for this, the new polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) grade has enhanced product properties: Ultradur B4340ZG2 HSP for thin-walled plug-in connectors combines high flowability with very good impact strength.
The CTI (comparative tracking index, track resistance, IEC 60112) is 600 volts and therefore allows minimum distances between the conductor tracks in plug-in connectors.
