PHILADELPHIA /RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, US: FMC Corporation and BASF entered into an agreement that brings novel in-furrow crop protection products to the US corn market. The organizations will coordinate their market-driving insect and disease protection technologies into new products formulated with the suitable LFR patented technology from FMC.
FMC and BASF will bring extraordinary in-furrow insect and disease protection. These new products include market-leading active ingredients, the same technology found in Headline fungicide and in FMC proprietary LFR formulations in Capture LFR Insecticide.
The exclusive LFR technology is unmatched in its capacity to blend promptly with liquid fertilisers, provide consistent active ingredient distribution, and remain in suspension for a uniform application from the first acre to the last.
New products to be unveiled by the companies
Under the agreement, each company will deliver new products. For 2017, FMC will launch Temitry LFR Insecticide/Fungicide. BASF will launch Manticor LFR In-furrow Fungicide/Insecticide. EPA registration has been received.
"The LFR technology brings greater convenience, simplicity and dependability to our customers. FMC is a recognised liquid in-furrow leader, and our customers will benefit from our leading disease control and plant health fungicide with the best below-ground insect control and in-furrow insecticide formulation technology available," said Scott Stout, corn fungicide products manager, BASF.
"As an industry, we require new instruments to push yield potential higher without utilising a greater amount of our common assets. These sorts of coordinated efforts get us to that objective," continued Stout.
"The alliance combines the core abilities of two market leaders, allowing them to help our customers take yields and profits to the next level. In-furrow protection has never been so appropriate or controlling,” added Rick Ekins, fungicide and insecticide portfolio manager for FMC.
According to Ekins and Stout, both companies are advancing new solutions that will sustainably feed a growing world population.
