Clariant increases mining footprint with new acquisitions, expansions

HOUSTON, US: Clariant International Ltd expands its mining solutions business and enhances its product portfolio, customer base and technical expertise, with numerous investments.
Clariant has agreed to buy Australian Chemical & Mining Services Pty Ltd, a provider of speciality chemicals and technical services to mining industry clients.
Further, procuring speciality mining chemicals business from SNF Flomin, a US-based subsidiary of the SNF Group which manufactures and distributes reagents for the minerals processing industry.
In addition, Clariant Mining Solutions has opened a new plant and expanded one of its existing facilities in North America. It has initiated the mining application and development centre in Tucson, Arizona and it is presently the regional hub for mining research.
The closeness of Clariant to key mining customers will allow for more and better collaboration on customised products and solutions. Furthermore, its current facility in Reserve, Louisiana, has been expanded and is now able to also blend chemicals for the mining industry. The additional production location allows Clariant to improve its customer service thanks to a stronger and more secure supply chain.
